WELCOME TO GOODNESS GROWS

Who do I help?

WHO DO I HELP?

Here in Australia we know too well what drought can do. In a country like Cambodia when the rains don’t come the hurt can be even worse. Little children face the greatest danger. Farmer Son tells his story.

Goodness grows icon

“My name is Son. I am a farmer in Cambodia. My wife and I have 4 children – 1 girl and 3 boys.

We are growing vegetables like potatoes and cucumbers, so we need water. But some of our cucumbers have died and this changing climate affects our livelihood.

I don’t have another job so when the rain doesn’t come there is no rice and no cucumbers to plant.

If I don’t have money to buy food for the children’s breakfast I am very sad. My wife worries that our children will die. If the rains don’t come I would have to go away to find work.

If the rains don’t come then we won’t have much money to support the children to go to school.”

Without a good job, how can anyone ever break free of poverty and all the suffering it causes?

When the rains don’t come, people in poverty are hurt worst.

That’s why you’re needed to help goodness grow!
